It is with great pleasure to announce Billy Pout as Seaford Town Ladies First Team Manager. Billy will be supported by Brad Tighe as Assistant Manager and they will be soon confirming additional coaching support. Alongside Billy and Brad in the Ladies competitive team we are also excited to announce Claire Bennett as the Manager of Seaford Town Ladies Veterans.
Seaford Town Ladies Veterans will be a non-competitive squad for players of all abilities including first-time players. Our aim is to give women the opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of team sport and football without the pressure of competing in a league.
A Mum of 5, Claire has been in and around Football for the past 24 years, watching her girls and boys play. More recently STFC has supported Claire in obtaining her Level One FA Coaching Badge as she has been helping coach our Girls U13 Team and our Inclusive Ability U12’s. Claire had set up a team that is now with Newhaven Town Ladies.
“Inspired by my children, I had the idea of grouping Mums together to have some fun and a kick-a-around! Never ever did I think it would lead us into one of the best times I have ever had. It’s great to learn new skills, keep fit and make lifelong friendships. I’m really excited to be able to bring this opportunity to Seaford Town FC and I would encourage anyone to join us, you will love it!” – Claire Bennett.
If you or anyone you know would like to try something new or dust of old boots please contact Claire on 07712 132 662.
Our Ladies First Team will be affiliated with the Sussex County Women & Girls League and as with the Ladies Veterans side will be fully supported by Seaford Town Football Club.
Billy Pout, Ladies First Team Manager, has been with STFC as a Mens First Team player for 6 of the last 7 seasons and is currently Assistant to U18s Manager Jamie Buckett. An experienced coach and player, Billy has played Futsal for Sussex, BHAFC and England.
“It’s a pleasure to be named the manager of the ladies first team at Seaford town football club. This is Seaford’s first ever ladies team which makes it even more of an honour. I am looking forward to the season to begin so me and my coaching team can knuckle down and hit the ground running. I am looking for enjoyment, progressions and professionalism from the whole team of players and coaches.” – Billy Pout
Brad Tighe, Ladies First Team Assistant Manager is a full-time Football Coach with 5 years experience in coaching female players of all ages, some working at a high level. Lancing was Brad’s first role on a ladies First Team where they were promoted into South East Counties Womens League in 2019. He is aiming to bring the same success to Seaford. Brad’s qualifications include Level 1 & Level 2 FA Coaching Badges with 1 and 2 in Goalkeeping currently in progress. As with Billy, Brad is also a Seaford Town Mens First Team player.
“This is an exciting move for Seaford and I can’t wait to be involved with the first county women’s team at the club. I’m looking forward to getting together a strong, high-quality team.” – Brad Tighe
Please do get in touch with Billy 07534 263 472 or Brad 07446 229 948 if you would like to be a part of our history by joining the very first Seaford Town Ladies First Team!
“All three individuals have been a massive part of the growth at Seaford Town FC in the last year and it is an honour to know that they want to continue this development and help take the club to the next level. The club has grown massively in the last year and put in fantastic foundations for the future, plenty of hard work on and off the pitch has helped this happen. With the backing of all those at Seaford Town we hope that Billy, Bradley and Clare can continue the amazing progress they have already helped to create at the club.
I wish all those set to be involved in the competitive ladies senior and non-competitive vets sides the very best for the season ahead!” – Craig Pooley, Men’s First Team co-Manager
“I’m over the moon with the reaction we have had to starting a Ladies First Team and Ladies Veterans. Seaford Town FC is a FA Charter Standard Community Club and its important to us to give as many people as possible access to the beautiful game!
I remember being about 9 years old when my Mother, Vicky Webster, organised Women’s charity game which they played at The Crouch. Me and my brother George use to go down to have a kick about on the side-lines with the other kids. To be able to bring this experience back to Seaford is a real honour and to be able to start both a competitive side and a non-competitive side. This way everyone can be included which sits at the heart of our club's community spirit.
I wish Claire, Billy & Brad all the luck in the world with their new teams and the committee and I are behind them 100% to make this a success! They are all the perfect people for their jobs and I can’t wait to see what magic they can create” – Tom Webster, Chairman
