Following this weeks announcement of or new Seaford Town Ladies management team, it gives the club great pleasure to announce John Westwood as our new Ladies Player Liaison Officer. John’s role will be to support management in player recruitment and to be a mentor for the players.
A popular face around the town and the club John played for Seaford Town until he broke his leg. Always having a passion for Seaford and football he then went into coaching. Joining us from Eastbourne Borough Ladies, John has 10 years experience in coaching girls and women and is going to be an incredible asset for our new team.
“I have loved coaching my daughter, Paige, from a young age. I have coached Paige and her teammates from U10s and started off at Seahaven Harrier Girls. I then progressed onto coaching Eastbourne girls until the U12s. This team won many tournaments including the big Eastbourne Sports Park tournament and coming out on top battling it out against Crawley. We then moved this group of girls to Eastbourne Borough from the age of U12s to U16s. A real highlight of managing these girls was at U15s the girls won the double, the league and the cup, whilst I was manager and full time coach for them.
I have always had a love for coaching football and I have been coaching girls and women for over 10 years. One of the best parts of being involved in girls & womens football is developing them to move onto bigger and better things. Making them into a better players and improving their knowledge of the game. I have a wide range of knowledge for the game and feel like I can add a lot of value to the new Seaford Town Ladies setup.” – John Westwood, Ladies Player Liaison Officer.
“John was one of the first calls I made when I was in the running to become the Ladies First Team Manager. His experience and knowledge of the ladies game is going to be a tremendous support for me and Brad and I’m delighted he is going to be a part of this adventure with us.” – Billy Pout, Ladies Frist Team Manager.
“I’ve known John since as far back as I can remember, John was a familiar face as a referee when my Dad played for Seaford and seeing John around the town. I cannot think of a better person to be involved in this exciting new chapter for the club. John has been a big inspiration in getting this team off the ground and I’m chuffed he is going to be bringing his experience to the team.” – Tom Webster, Chairman.
